BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW

The biblical worldview serves as the pathway by which students are prepared to fulfill the Great Commission as noted in God鈥檚 Word through:
Proverbs 9:10 鈥 鈥淭he fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom鈥︹ | Describes our calling to Him
Genesis 1:26 鈥 鈥淭hen God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;鈥︹ | Describes who we are in Him
Romans 12:2 鈥 鈥淎nd do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may provide what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.鈥 | Describes our transformation by Him

CORE VALUES

Christ-centered
The gospel of Jesus Christ is at the core of everything we do at the 草榴社区. The gospel moves through every aspect of our lives, our campus, and our intentions. Our hope is to send out leaders who understand the call of God on their lives and work to build his Kingdom.

Academically-focused
With over 50 areas of study, the 草榴社区 believes strong academics is vital in a changing world. We work hard to find faculty of the highest caliber to train and educate students to be the best in their field of study.

Student-devoted
The 草榴社区 intentionally creates experiences to build community throughout student and academic life. With a 14:1 student to faculty ratio, our small class size means you get the attention you deserve to step into your full potential.

Distinctively-driven
The 草榴社区 is committed to being a premier Christ-centered academic community providing comprehensive liberal arts and professional programs to distinctively transform the world.

THE GREAT COMMISSION TRADITION

The Great Commission Tradition is grounded in the biblical worldview that is the foundation of the 草榴社区 experience. It includes two ceremonies: President鈥檚 Commissioning that marks the beginning of a new student鈥檚 college experience, and Commencement that signals the beginning of a new graduate鈥檚 impact on the world. Its centerpiece is the Great Commission Globe, located at the heart of the 草榴社区 campus on the Dr. Fred and Sue Lackey Great Commission Lawn.聽The Great Commission Globe was made possible through a聽generous聽gift from the estate of Doris M. Davis.

President鈥檚 Commissioning is held at the beginning of each fall semester. During a ceremony of prayer and worship, incoming students touch the globe as they process toward Weaver Hall. This first touch symbolizes the student鈥檚 commitment to open his or her mind and heart to the intellectual development and spiritual transformation that lies ahead.

This transformative process takes place within a biblical worldview that serves as the pathway by which students are prepared to fulfill the Great Commission as noted in God鈥檚 Word through:

Proverbs 9:10 鈥 鈥淭he fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom鈥︹ | Describes our calling to Him
Genesis 1:26 鈥 鈥淭hen God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;鈥︹ | Describes who we are in Him
Romans 12:2 鈥 鈥淎nd do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may provide what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.鈥 | Describes our transformation by Him

The second touch occurs聽at Commencement as the new graduates recess from the ceremony, moving forward toward the world beyond campus. This final touch symbolizes the commitment of 草榴社区 alumni to answer God鈥檚 call, as described in Isaiah:

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 鈥淲hom shall I send? And who will go for us?鈥
And I said, 鈥淗ere am I. Send me!鈥

Isaiah 6:8

In this way, a biblical worldview acts as the framework in preparing each student to know Him and serve His will through one鈥檚 professional calling in fulfilling the Great Commission.

And Jesus came and said to them, 鈥淎ll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.鈥

Matthew 28:18-20
