HONORS PROGRAM

The Honors Program is an accelerated, interdisciplinary program centered in the liberal arts and grounded in the great books of Western culture. Honors is compatible with any undergraduate major. It begins with a two-year sequence of great-books seminars, which cultivate advanced reading and writing skills while emphasizing in-depth discussion and student-led projects.

Ability Never Goes out of Style
The world is rapidly changing. In many cases, the 21st century jobs and technologies into which our graduates will enter have yet to be invented. The key to success will be the mastery of skills such as critical thinking, oral and written communication, problem-solving, leadership and collaboration.
At the 草榴社区, the College of Arts and Sciences provides these skills through the general education component of every undergraduate student as well as in our 24 degree programs offered through four departments. Among our graduates are doctors, lawyers, authors, scientists, teachers, corporate executives and ministers.
From STEM programs such as Applied Mathematics and Biology to classic Liberal Arts subjects including Philosophy and English, College of Arts and Sciences students leave the 草榴社区 with the ability to compete in the modern environment.

鈥淚 know my students. I see them in class, they visit me in my office, we pass on the quad, and we chat in the halls. The relationships we are able to build allow me to meet the needs of my students in ways impossible at larger schools.鈥
